Temperatures to soar into 50s

The morning started off with freezing fog. But the fog is lifting and temperatures are expected to start climbing, said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“Today we’ll soar into the upper 50s,” she said.

At 11:10 a.m., the temperature was 42 degrees, the humidity was 99 percent and winds were from the southeast at 14 mph, making the windchill 38 degrees.

Schack said today’s winds will be from the south at 8 to 15 mph. The National Weather Service is predicting winds to increase to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Tonight’s skies will be mostly clear, with the temperature falling to 33 degrees by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday’s high temperature will climb to 50 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

Thursday’s morning low will be 26 degrees, with Thursday’s high reaching 41 degrees.
