Olathe ? Drew Huff scored 16 and keyed a strong defensive effort Monday as the Lawrence High girls basketball squad secured a 56-24 victory over Olathe North in Sunflower League action.

The Lions (8-9 overall, 5-3 league) made nine of 14 shots in the opening quarter to take a 20-2 lead, and LHS allowed just four points in the first half.

“In the first quarter, we had six steals, and we forced them into four more turnovers,” LHS coach Kristin Mallory said. “We came out with intensity.”

LHS will play host Friday to Leavenworth.
