Jayhawks rip Stanford

? Kansas University’s baseball squad scored six runs in the final two innings, breaking a tie and cruising to a 8-2 victory over Stanford on Friday at Sunken Diamond, handing the Cardinal (3-1) their first loss of the season.

Junior Sean Land (2-0) allowed just three hits, striking out four for the Jayhawks (5-1). Senior closer Don Czyz pitched the final two innings to earn his second save.

KU will play the second game of its three-game series with Stanford at 3 p.m. today. Senior Ricky Fairchild (1-0, 1.80 earned-run average) will start for the Jayhawks against Matt Manship (0-0, 10.80).
