From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 23, 1906: “We learn that many libraries are having problems of space, such as is ours. One observer said ‘there are too many books being printed and we are having troubles finding where to put them for the best possible use by the most people.’ : The proposed raise for Congress pay of $2,500 a year is reasonable providing the officers getting the salary perform well. That is a lot of money considering there are some 500 involved. : In a fast and exciting game at Haskell, the Kansas City Athletic Club defeated the Indian squad 24-20. Observers said both teams played exceptionally well.”
