What he did: Spangler earned three victories during Thursday’s five-team meet at the Lawrence Aquatic Center. He won the 100 freestyle (54.44 seconds) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.71) and swam a leg on the Firebirds’ victorious 200 freestyle relay (1:37.23).

What she did: Bird averaged 22.5 points as the Lions split two games last week. She had a game-high 24 points in Tuesday’s 71-38 rout of Kansas City Washington and followed up with a game-high 21 points in Thursday’s 65-59 loss to Shawnee Mission Northwest.
