State employee wins $3.1 million in lottery

? A state employee who won a record jackpot of $3,136,845 in the Super Kansas Cash lottery drawing says her working days are over.

Tammy Shuler, 41, of Topeka, matched all six numbers in Monday’s drawing. After the Kansas Lottery withholds federal and state income taxes, she will get $2,195,791.50.

Shuler works in the Child Abuse and Neglect Unit of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

“I’m going to be able to quit my job,” she said. “Our son is going to college, and we’re going to buy a new house and a couple of new vehicles.”

Shuler and her fiance, Shawn Woods, have three children: a 24-year-old daughter, a 19-year-old son, and a 5-year-old son.
