University Bridge Club announces winners of its Aug. 5 game. Hosts were Carol and Al Smith and Hank and Dottie Miller.

Blue winners were Hank Miller, first; Dale Kring, second; Paul Jordan, third; Ray Ikenberry, fourth; and Roy Cropp, fifth.

Pink winners were Bonnie Haney, first; Mary Kanous, second; Edna Galle, third; Aileen Bocquin, fourth; and Alice Akin, fifth.

The Kaw Valley Bridge Club’s Aug. 2 afternoon game was stratified, used the Howell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver. John Reese and Shirley Reese placed first in A and B. Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel placed second in A and B and first in C. Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor were third in A, and Eldon Herd and Shirlie Vaughn placed fourth in A. Nita Scales and Florine Creek placed fifth in A, third in B and second in C.

The Kaw Valley Bridge Club’s Aug. 2 evening game used the Swiss Team movement and was directed by Don Brennaman.

The winning team was Jeane Landry, Jolene Andersen, Earle Core and Mike Lee. The team of Barbara McCorkle, Dick Moore, Russell LaForce and Ilse Steinhardt placed second.

The North-South winners were led by Julia Brooks and Phyllis Brownlee who placed first in A, followed by Shirley Reese and Betty Collier at second in A and first in B. Patt Radford and Lester Dalton placed third in A, and Frances Vogel and Alice Leitch placed first in C.

The East-West winners were led by Jeremy Martin and Jeffrey Nash at first in A and B, followed by Virginia Seaver and Sally Taylor at second in A. Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman were third in A, and Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel placed second in B and first in C.

The North-South winners were led by Kent McCullough and Larry Bodle at first in A, followed by Clyde Romer and Steven Phelps at second in A and first in B. Betty Spalsbury and Grant Sutton placed third in A, second in B and first in A, followed by Pat Burgstahler and Martie Hartman at fourth in A, third in B and second in C.

The East-West winners were led by Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges at first in A and B, followed by Virginia Seaver and Julia Brooks at second in A. Chuck Hedges and Shirlie Vaughn placed third in A and second in B. Emily Foster and Sam Pierron were fourth in A, third in B and first in C. Lois Jones and Jeffrey Nash placed fifth in A.
