Clouds to break up

Lawrence was a little foggy and cloudy this morning, but some sunshine is on the way, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist

“We’ll have some morning clouds and they’ll start to break up this afternoon,” Schack said.

Today’s high temperature will climb to 77 degrees and winds will be out of the east this afternoon, at 5 to 10 mph, she said.

“It’s much cooler this week than last week, when it was in the 90s,” Schack said.

At 7 a.m., Lawrence’s temperature was 55 degrees, the humidity was 88 percent and winds were from the northeast at 3 mph.

The average low temperature for this date is 46 degrees. The record low was 27 degrees, set in 1921.

The average high temperature for this date is 68 degrees. The record high was 90 degrees, set in 1954.

Tuesday’s early morning low will be 59 degrees, Schack said. Tuesday’s afternoon high will be 78 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and the chance for an isolated late afternoon or evening storm, she said.

Wednesday’s morning low will be 46 degrees, climbing to a high of 67 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, she said. Wednesday’s skies will be partly cloudy, she said.
