Public invited to tag Monarchs today
Butterfly enthusiasts can tag Monarch butterflies from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today at the Baker University Wetlands on 31st Street between Haskell Avenue and Louisiana Street.
The annual free event allows children and adults to catch and then mark butterflies with a tag. Some tagged butterflies may be recovered after migration at a winter site in Mexico, according to the event sponsors, the Jayhawk Audubon Society and Monarch Watch.
Nets and tags will be provided.
