The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s Aug. 24 game was directed by Virginia Seaver. Seven tables played a stratified game with a Mitchell movement. Sally Taylor and Phyllis Brownlee won first in A among the North-South pairs, followed by Linda Heavin and Harriet Olson who won first in B and second in A. Chris Lane and Carol Ball were third in A.

The East-West pairs were led by Cathy Blumenfeld and Lois Clark who won first in both A and B. Florene Creek and Frances Vogel won second in A and B, followed by Virginia Seaver and Madelyn Jenks at third in A.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club played five and a half tables on Aug. 24 in a stratified Howell movement. It was directed by Don Brennaman. Jean Landry and Jeremy Martin tied with Virginia Seaver and Mary Beth Treece for first in A. Earl Core and Mike Lee won third in A and first in B and C, followed by Dick Moore and Barbara McCorkle who won second in B and C.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s Aug. 26 game was directed by Don Brennaman. Twelve an a half tables played a stratified Mitchell movement. Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark led the North-South pairs, winning first in A and B. Erna Holmes and Frances Vogel won second in A and B, and James Masilamani and Lois Jones, of Topeka, were third in A. Glen Hadaway and Bob Daily, of Emporia, were first in C and third in B.

The East-West pairs were led by Sally Taylor and Klee Zaricky who won first in both A and B. David Piro and Paul Heitzman won second in A, and Shirley Reese and Yvonne Hedges took third place in A and second in B. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty were first in C.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club played five tables in a stratified game directed by Jerry Sloan. Vernon Gregg and Marilyn Stewart, of Topeka, won first in A and B, followed by Vince Russo and Ed Howard who won second in A. Jeremy Martin and Jeffrey Nash won third in A and second in B. Russell LaForce and Betty Spalsbury were first in C.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at 11 and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South pairs were led by Patt Radford and John Hickey, winning first in A and B. Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark took second place in A and B, followed by Virginia Seaver and Chris Lane who were third in A and B. Earl Core and Mike Lee were first in C.

The East-West pairs were led by Dorothy Netson and Barbara Merriam, of Topeka, who won first in A, B and C. Peter Petillo and Don Brennaman were second in A and B. Third in A and B and second in C were Mike and Cathy Blumenfeld.

All bridge games are played at the Kaw Valley Bridge Center in the I-70 Business Center. Evening games start at 6:45, Wednesday and Friday afternoon games start at 12:30 and the Sunday game starts at 1 p.m.
