CJHS run puts fun in fundraiser

Students at Central Junior High are gearing up for the school’s 24th annual Fun Run on Friday.

“The entire school will participate,” Principal Frank Harwood said. “The students will take their pick. There’ll be a walking course and a running course.”

Over the years, Harwood said, the event has become the school’s annual fundraiser.

“Rather than having students sell things – wrapping paper, for example – that tend to be overpriced, we’ve found that most people would rather just give money,” Harwood said.

School officials hope to raise $14,000 for activities, special assemblies, camp scholarships and award ceremonies.
