New Kansas Education Commissioner Bob Corkins has approved a $5,000 contract with an Overland Park woman for media services.

The contract is with Pure Eloquence, a public relations company owned and operated by Valerie Jennings.

Jennings “will also serve as a liaison between the media and the department upon the resignation of Kathy Toelkes, the current communications director, at the end of this month,” a news release from the Department of Education said.
