Health department schedules flu shots

The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will hold a flu shot clinic for people at risk for complications associated with the flu from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Local health department leaders also will hold two more flu vaccination clinics for high-priority groups from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Eudora City Hall and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 21 at the First United Methodist Church in Lecompton.

People in the high priority groups include the elderly, young children, pregnant women, people with chronic medical conditions and health care workers.

Starting Oct. 25, flu clinics held by the local health department will be open to all members of the public.

The following is a list of when those clinics will be:

¢ 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 25, Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

¢ 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 27, Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, 200 Maine.

¢ 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 29, local health department.

¢ 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1, First United Methodist Church in Lecompton.

¢ 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 2, Eudora City Hall.

¢ 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2, Holcom Recreational Center, 2700 W. 27th.

¢ 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3, local health department.
