Member wants school board to oppose TABOR

Lawrence school board member Rich Minder wants the board to join the coalition opposing the so-called Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, called TABOR.

Minder suggested the board support the coalition at a school board meeting Monday.

TABOR is a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voter approval of state tax increases, limit state spending growth to the inflation rate and refund taxes above that amount.

The board will discuss TABOR along with other legislative issues at an upcoming meeting.
