Drivers needed for Meals on Wheels

Lawrence Meals on Wheels seeks volunteer drivers to assist with meal delivery. The program provides hot nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and/or disabled people residing in Lawrence.

Positions are available each day of the week to pick up and deliver meals; delivery takes about 45 minutes. Volunteers must be 16 or older unless signing up with a parent. For more information, call Kim Culliss at 979-1440.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Achievement Place for Boys, a residential group home for boys, seeks one to two volunteers to visit the home and give a holiday cookie baking demonstration with the residents. Volunteers interested in this opportunity may contact Roxanna Sarraf at 843-5560.

¢ The Salvation Army seeks volunteers to assist during the holiday season. Volunteer assistance is needed for preparation and distribution of holiday meals, coordination and organization of the holiday “Toy Shop,” distribution of coats for the Share the Warmth program, as well as many other opportunities related to the holiday season. The brochure provides information on how volunteers may assist in different charitable organizations during the holiday season; adopt-a-family and adopt-a-child holiday programs; and how to volunteer or contribute to free holiday community meals.
