D-lineman Dalton arrested; LB Barber activated

? Lional Dalton, a defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested Friday after an alleged fight with his estranged wife, authorities said.

Dalton, 30, was released on $2,500 bond after being arrested for grabbing his estranged wife by the hair and pulling her down.

Johnson County District Attorney Paul Morrison said the woman was visiting from Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday when the alleged incident was reported.

Dalton, who signed a two-year contract as a free agent with the Chiefs last year, was arrested at about 1:40 a.m. at his Stilwell, Kan., home, according to Johnson County jail records. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday.

Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore said the team did not have enough information on the situation to comment. But he said coach Dick Vermeil had indicated the incident would not necessarily keep Dalton from playing Sunday against the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

Also Friday, the Chiefs activated Shawn Barber from the physically unable to perform list. Barber, a 6-foot-2-inch, 240-pound linebacker, suffered a knee injury against Tampa Bay in November 2004. Before the injury, he had started 24 consecutive games for the Chiefs.
