Rape case dismissed at victim’s request
The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office dismissed rape charges against a former Lawrence man accused of raping another man last year.
The defendant appeared in court Wednesday for a hearing to discuss his upcoming jury trial.
Instead, the district attorney’s office filed a motion to dismiss the case, at the request of the victim.
The man was accused of having sex with another man against his will in May 2004.
