Kasold Drive design issues spotlighted

Lawrence City Commission agenda highlights ¢ 6:35 p.m. Tuesday ¢ City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets

Bottom line

City commissioners again will discuss design issues related to the rebuilding of Kasold Drive between Bob Billings Parkway and Clinton Parkway.

Background

Commissioners in September approved a design for the road on a 3-2 vote. City Commissioner Mike Rundle, who voted for the approved design, recently said he wanted to reopen the discussion. Commissioners have been split on how wide to make a sidewalk and also have struggled with how tall a retaining wall along the stretch of road needs to be.
