The Lawrence Hidden Valley Committee Inc. will have its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway.

The meeting will be in conjunction with the Douglas County Girl Scouts Service Unit Meeting.

The committee will elect new board members to serve three-year terms. The nominees are Lauren Buskirk, Cindy Dunham, Christine Graves and Jill Hardesty.

All registered adult Girl Scouts in Douglas County are members of The Lawrence Hidden Valley Committee Inc. and are encouraged to attend the annual meeting.

¢ The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s Oct. 26 game included eight tables in a stratified Mitchell movement directed by Virginia Seaver. John Gilbert and Judy Bevan won first in A and B playing North-South. Phyllis Brownlee and Doris Stubeck won second in A, followed by Klee Zaricky and Betty Collier in third place. Florine Creek and Frances Vogel won second in B.

At East-West, Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor won first in A, and Mona Bell and Wanna Roszel won second in A and first in B. Sally Davis and Julia Brooks won third in A. Grant Sutton and Ann Thompson won second in B.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club played seven tables in a stratified Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the Oct. 26 game. Ed Howard and Addie Nyquist won first in A at North-South. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley took second in A and first in B and C. Ilse Steinhardt and Jolene Anderson were third in A and second in B and C.

Helen and Bob Huffman won first in A, B and C playing East-West. Mike Magnuson and Jeff Rees won second in all three strata, followed by Grant Sutton and Sam Pierron who won third.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s Oct. 28 game was directed by Don Brennaman. Ten tables played a stratified Mitchell movement. Kent McCullough and Chuck Hedges led the North-South pairs winning first in A. Gladys Rivard and Janice Hollowell, of Leavenworth, placed second in A and first in both B and C. Phyllis Brownlee and Virginia Seaver won third in A. Winning second in B and C were Clara Elkins and Bob Dailey, of Emporia.

Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won first in A, B and C at East-West, followed by Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese who won second in A. Klee Zaricky and Sally Taylor won third in A and Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel won second in B and C.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Howell movement at three and a half tables directed by Jerry Sloan. Shari Krentzel and Virginia Hamilton, of Ozawkie, won first in A and B. Jeremy Martin and Jeff Nash won second in A and Chuck and Yvonne Hedges won third. Betty Spalsbury and Bob Anderson won second in B.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at 12 and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver. Playing North-South, Donna Johnson and James Masilamani won first in A. James Zhang and Harry Shaffer placed second in A, and Grant Sutton and Ann Thompson were third in A and first in B and C. Mike Lee and Earl Core won second in B and C.

Jerry Sloan and Lois Clark led the East-West pairs by winning first in A. Topekans Lois Jones and Jeff Nash won second place, and James Kelley Jr. and John Hickey won third. First in B went to Eldon Herd and Chuck Hedges, followed by L.N. Collier and Charlie Vaughn who won second in B and first in C.

¢ A class is scheduled for duplicate players who would like to sharpen their bidding and playing skills and learn new conventions. It will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Kaw Valley Bridge Center. For more information, call Chris Lane at 842-2655.
