Henrickson Camps: Kansas University women’s basketball coach Bonnie Henrickson will offer four camps this summer — an elite camp (June 17-19) for girls entering grades 9-12; individual camp (June 26-29) for girls entering grades 5-12; Junior Jayhawk camp (July 5-8) for girls and boys entering grades 1-5, and day team camp (July 30-31) for varsity and junior varsity teams. Collette Honored: Matapony Collette, a senior softball player from Perry-Lecompton High, has been named female athlete of the year at McPherson College. Collette, a catcher-third baseman, is the school’s all-time leader in doubles, games played and plate appearances. Her career batting average was .341.

Smith Second: In the Mother’s Day 5K in Overland Park, Lawrence’s Jodie Smith won the ages 20-24 division and Dee Boeck was second in the 55-59 competition. Also, Karen Hyde of Lawrence finished second in the ages 40-44 division of the Kansas Heart and Sole Classic 10K Saturday in Olathe.

KU Soccer Camps: Kansas University’s soccer program will offer three camps — May 31 to June 3 for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade, June 26-30 for boys and girls in grades 4-12 and July 30 to Aug. 3 for girls in grades 4-12. For information, call Kara Lowery at 864-5833.

Sidewinders Champs: Lawrence Sidewinders won a U-12 baseball tournament in Manhattan. Team members are Austin Anderson, Jackson Ferguson, Jordan Parsons, Evan Manning, Rowan Cook, Mack Hartwell, Jonathan Pederson, Trenton Sheppard, Tim Lewis, Eric Watson, Sam Prososki and Aaron Gile. Coaches are Greg Anderson, Kent Ferguson, Doug Hartwell, Adam Gabriel and Danny Manning.

Roberts Easy Winner: Conrad Roberts fired a two-under-par 70 in windy conditions and won Saturday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by seven strokes over Tom Dennis, Mike McNelly and Mike Neagle. In net scoring, Frank Lewis was low with a 66, followed by Dean Hilker 69, and Stephen Morgan and James Rudy, both with 70s.

88s Win in Ottawa: University National Bank 88s won a U-13 baseball tournament last weekend in Ottawa. Divers Qualify: Kelly Marx of Team Jayhawk Diving Club finished second on the boys ages 16-18 three-meter board and sixth at one meters at the U.S. Diving West Nationals last weekend in Dallas. The club’s Logan Kline was fourth on both boards in the girls 14-15 age group. Both qualified for the U.S.-Canada Challenge May 20-22 in Calgary. Other TJDC members competing were Lauren Wismer, Kristen Frieze, Andy Krantz and Cole Young.

Rebels Advance: By finishing as the top team in their division a Nevada, Mo., tournament, the Kansas Rebels U-13 baseball team qualified for the Triple Crown World Series later this summer. Team members are Cody Amerine, Drew Branstrom, Seth Dirks-Ham, Hayden Emerson, Craig Harper, Nick Hassig, Chase McElhaney, Landon Moseley, Drew Noble, Brad Phillips and Justin Vander Tuig. Coaches are Paul Vander Tuig and Bob Emerson.

KVSA U-11 Second: Kaw Valley Soccer Assn. U-11 girls premier team finished second in last weekend’s Governor’s Cup in Topeka.
