Drizzle expected through evening

A cold front blustered into Lawrence this afternoon, pushing down temperatures and bringing a late afternoon drizzle.

“We’ll have light drizzle lasting through the evening hours, but no measurable precipitation is expected,” said Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist. “It’s making it feel raw, with the clouds, the wind and the drizzle.”

The temperature at 5 p.m. was 46, with a an 18-mph westerly wind making the wind chill 41 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to fall overnight to a low of 35 by early Thursday morning, with winds around 10 to 15 mph, Sayers said.

Thursday’s afternoon high will be 60, with a few high clouds over the city, he said.

Friday’s morning low will be 35, with the high reaching 58 Friday afternoon, under mostly sunny skies, he said.
