Texas rallies past OU in overtime

? Tiffany Jackson chased a terrible half with one terrific comeback.

Jackson recorded career highs with 30 points and 16 rebounds, and Nina Norman scored a career-best 22 points as No. 15 Texas rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat Oklahoma, 83-71 in overtime, Wednesday night.

Jackson had eight turnovers to go with 10 points and six rebounds in the first half, but committed only one turnover during the next 25 minutes as she helped rally Texas to its biggest comeback of the season.

“We thought she was going for a triple-double there, but she didn’t quite get it,” Texas coach Jody Conradt joked.

“Tiffany’s the kind of player that makes things happen, and you don’t want to put reins on somebody who has the kind of ability she does.”

Norman scored the first four points of overtime, and Jackson added nine points — including an offensive rebound putback and a three-point play — as the Longhorns (11-6 overall, 4-2 Big 12 Conference) kept pulling away from the Sooners (11-6, 3-3) in the extra period.

“I just kept fighting,” Jackson said. “I just tried to be hard-nosed and tried to rebound as well as I could.”
