Reed powers Oskie to victory

? Megan Reed scored 20 points to lift Oskaloosa High’s girls basketball team to a 59-37 victory Monday over Topeka Cair Paravel.

Reed had 12 points in the first half, leading the Bears to a 37-13 halftime lead. She was complemented by April Kruse, who added 10 points.

Oskaloosa (4-5) will play Perry-Lecompton today in the Jefferson North Invitational.

Louisburg — De Soto’s Amy Petty scored 10 of her game-hgih 21 points in the third quarter of De Soto’s opening-round contest in the Louisburg Invitational.

The Wildcats went on a 16-3 run after halftime to secure their fifth-straight victory.

De Soto (7-3) will play the Osawatomie-Independence winner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
