Beverly S. ‘Bev’ McDonald, Lawrence

She was born Jan. 4, 1912, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Wilbur K. and Frances K. Bender Mess. She lived in New Jersey for 60 years and moved to Lawrence in 2001.

Mrs. McDonald worked as a librarian for the Marlboro Branch of Monmouth County Library System and retired after 17 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, Holy Family Catholic Church in Union Beach, N.J., and was a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 84 in New Jersey.

She married William J. McDonald on May 23, 1953, in New Jersey. He died March 2, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie-Frances McDonald, Lawrence; and a sister, Golda E. Lapiner of Ithaca, N.Y.

The family suggests memorials to Monmouth County, N.J., Library System, Marlboro Branch, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
