Hallenbeck services

Services for Marie Wilhelmina Hallenbeck, 87, Tonganoxie, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mrs. Hallenbeck died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 5, 1917, in Lawrence, the daughter of Louie and Mary Reimer Milleret. She was raised in Linwood and graduated from Linwood High School.

She worked as a bus driver for Mackey Rural Grade School and also for Tonganoxie school district. She worked for Leavenworth County for more than 20 years. She also delivered homebound meals until she had to retire in 2004 because of hip surgery.

She was a member of Happy Hour Social Club and United Methodist Church of Tonganoxie.

She married George S. Hallenbeck on Nov. 24, 1938. He died in 1987.

Survivors include three sons, Roger Hallenbeck, Great Bend, Ronnie Hallenbeck, Johnston, Iowa, and Larry Hallenbeck, Beijing; a brother, L.J. “Pete” Milleret, Lawrence; a sister, Bertha Wise, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
