He currently serves as a motivational speaker and lives in Brentwood, Tenn.

FCA was founded in 1954. Its mission includes “challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ.”

Swim coach charged in Internet sex sting

Kansas City, Mo. — A Prairie Village, Kan., man and swim team coach was charged Monday in a federal Internet sex sting operation.

Craig Ivancic, who coached the Kansas City Blazers swim team, was charged with traveling across state lines to have sex with a minor.

According to the FBI, last month Ivancic allegedly started to chat online with a 14-year-old girl last month and the conversations became inappropriate. The girl’s parents called the FBI and a Cyber Crimes Task Force officer took the place of the girl and continued to communicate with the suspect, FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said.

Ivancic allegedly drove to the girl’s Clay County, Mo., house Thursday to have sex with her and was arrested by the FBI.

The Blazers swim team is a program under the Johnson County Parks and Recreation Department. The department has placed Ivancic on “judicial suspension.”
