Boys: Perry-Lecompton 71, Basehor-Linwood 52

? Willie Treaster had 20 points and five assists, Drew Tucker contributed 18 points and eight assists with just one turnover, and Gabe Gantz chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds for Perry-Lecompton.

“Drew did a wonderful job for us,” P-L coach Mike Linehan said. “Willie had a big night, and Gabe had just a huge night for us, especially rebounding. That was our biggest focus.”

Linehan especially was pleased the Kaws (7-7) held a lead. They had blown a 14-point, fourth-quarter advantage Wednesday against Kansas City Ward.

“We had a good talk with the guys, and they responded,” Linehan said. “This was an intense basketball game. I never felt secure with it, especially after being up 14 and losing it, but I’m pleased with how the guys responded.”

Perry will travel Tuesday to Bonner Springs.
