Buckman returns, sparks Longhorns to 72-point rout

? Brad Buckman returned after missing two games because of an injury and scored a season-high 20 points to lead No. 15 Texas to a 110-38 victory over Prairie View A&M on Friday night.

P.J. Tucker added 26 points for the Longhorns (10-2), while LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 points and 16 rebounds.

Buckman missed the last two games after twisting his right knee in a blowout loss to No. 1 Duke almost three weeks ago. He finished with eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

The 72-point margin was the most for the Longhorns since a 148-71 victory over Northern Montana in 1978.

Missouri 74, Oakland, Mich., 58

Columbia, Mo. – Thomas Gardner scored 19 points and had a career-high seven assists for Missouri. Marshall Brown and Jimmy McKinney each had 14 points for the Tigers (6-4).

No. 9 Rutgers 63, No. 19 Texas 49

Piscataway, N.J. – Cappie Pondexter scored 22 points, and Matee Ajavon had 17 as Rutgers rebounded from its only loss of the season.

No. 20 Oklahoma 83, No. 16 New Mexico 70

Albuquerque, N.M. – Freshman Courtney Paris got her 10th double-double of the season with 24 points and 15 rebounds, and Chelsi Welch added a season-high 20 points.

Kansas State 72, St. Peter’s 64

Jersey City, N.J. – Marlies Gipson scored 16 points to lead four Wildcats in double figures as Kansas State won the St. Peter’s Holiday Classic.
