The following Douglas County residents or businesses filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Kansas, during the week ending Thursday:

¢ Larry William Davis and Deborah Jean Davis, also known as Debbie Davis, 1323 E. 2300 Road, Eudora.

The filing is the second from Douglas County since new federal bankruptcy rules took effect Oct. 17, according to court records.

The had been a rush of filings leading up to the change. On Sunday, Oct. 16 – the day before the deadline – there were 551 cases filed statewide, according to the court’s Web site. Of those cases, 41 involved filings from Douglas County.
