To prepare for the months of cold ahead, the Salvation Army and Scotch Cleaners will provide coats to those in need Friday and Saturday at the army’s distribution center, 23rd and Harper streets.

The event will take place between 9 a.m and noon and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., both days.

Scotch Cleaners has been collecting and cleaning the coats at their Lawrence locations, while the Salvation Army has sorted and organized the coats to help facilitate the distribution process.
