Laura Frizell scored on a penalty kick, and goalkeeper Lindsey Ahlen recorded a shutout as Seabury Academy defeated Manhattan Flint Hills Christian, 1-0, in its girls soccer opener Tuesday at the Youth Sports Inc. fields.

Frizell scored in the fifth minute of the second half.

“I’d say they played very well for not having played a game,” Seabury coach Gunar Harmon said. “The shutout was preserved by Simi Singh. She cleared the ball in front of the goal in the last minute.”

Seabury will play Thursday at Kansas City Lutheran.
