Dorothy E. Snow

Services for Dorothy E. Snow, 84, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Snow died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Lawrence, the daughter of William and Arlene Bullard Vogler. She attended Lawrence schools.

Mrs. Snow worked at Carrousel and in women’s clothing at Edmondston’s, both in downtown Lawrence. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a lifetime member of Sunny Valley E.H.U.

She married Lorin Anthony Snow on Nov. 19, 1935, in Iola. He died Feb. 2, 2002.

A son, Lonnie, died in 1965 in Vietnam.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Snow, Lawrence, and Steven Snow, Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Cherrill Shoemaker, Lawrence, and Carole Amerine, Belleview, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The family suggests memorials to Sunny Valley Extension Homemakers Unit or charity of donor’s choice, sent in care of the funeral home.
