Lawrence Police said Thursday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:
- 288 calls
- 36 reports
- Two burglaries
- One robbery
- One theft
- Six noninjury accidents
- One injury accident
- Lawrence Police on Wednesday arrested a father and son from Lecompton after an altercation at a mobile home in the 100 block of Arkansas Street. According to a police report, the men were involved in a verbal altercation with a 23-year-old man, and one of the suspects displayed a knife. The father, 44, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. The 20-year-old son was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- Two residents of a home in the 1000 block of Monterey Way reported $1,200 in criminal damage to their car windshields and to the drywall of their home between Sept. 2 and Tuesday.
- A 21-year-old woman told police someone took $4,500 worth of compact discs between 11 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday from her vehicle in the 3700 block of West 24th Street.
