Congressman to appear on KJHK radio show

U.S. Rep. Jim Ryun will appear this evening on 90.7 KJHK-FM, Kansas University’s student radio station, to discuss his bid for re-election.

The four-term Republican congressman from Kansas’s 2nd District will answer questions about national security, the economy and the No Child Left Behind Act on “Politics with Rachel Robson” from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The 2nd District includes most of the city of Lawrence west of Iowa Street.

Ryun’s Democratic challenger in the fall election, Nancy Boyda, will appear on the show on Sept. 24.

The Ryun campaign was only able to commit to a half-hour-long appearance on the show via telephone, so Ryun will not be taking calls from audience members.

Robson said that Boyda is currently scheduled for an hourlong in-studio appearance, and anticipates that she will accept questions from listeners.
