Boundary agreement with Kansas University on table

Bottom line

The Lawrence City Commission will receive a proposed agreement with Kansas University that defines campus boundaries.

Background

The agreement draws a red line around the KU campus. If the university expands beyond that line, it agrees to submit to city zoning rules and processes in the new areas. The city, in return, gives up its proposal to zone, and thus regulate, development in the campus interior.
