Hazel Milliken

? Services for Hazel Milliken, 97, Eureka, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Milliken died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Medicalodge in Eureka.

She was born Oct. 21, 1907, in Eureka, the daughter of Alfred Hayden and Zulah Stringham Gregg. She was raised in Fairview Township and attended Fairview Grade School. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1925.

Mrs. Milliken worked for the principal and superintendent of Eureka schools as a secretary until 1938. She was a homemaker until 1959, when she returned to her position with the school district. She retired in 1972. She was a member of Christian and Congregational Church, a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Queen Bess Chapter 56, and Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls. She was also a member of Greenwood County Historical Society, Altrurian Club and Garden Club.

She married Herman Milliken on June 29, 1929, in Sedan. He died Dec. 28, 1980.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Seymour, Eureka; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
