Patricia Josephine Harkins

? A memorial service for Patricia Josephine Harkins, 90, Ottawa, is planned for Nov. 27. A private family funeral Mass was conducted at Sacred Heart Church, Ottawa. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa.

Mrs. Harkins died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Allegany, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph F. and Mary Jones Krampf. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Academy in Allegany in 1930 and from a nurses’ training school in Buffalo, N.Y.

She had lived in New York, Nowata, Okla., Chanute and Iola before moving to Ottawa in 1945.

She worked as an X-ray technician for 13 years at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa and then eight years at the Professional Plaza Lab, retiring in 1979.

Mrs. Harkins was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She married Arthur T. Harkins on Sept. 20, 1934, in Allegany. He died on Nov. 14, 1968.

Survivors include three sons, Arthur Harkins, St. Paul, Minn., Daniel Harkins, Newport Beach, Calif., and Joseph Harkins, Lawrence; three daughters, Mary Harkins, Plymouth, Mass.; Susan Allen, Lawrence, and Lisa Daniels, Ottawa; a sister, Irene Krampf, Allegany; 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, sent in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
