John P. Bailey

Overland Park ? Visitation for John P. Bailey, 78, Linwood, will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McGilley and Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park.

Mr. Bailey died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

He was born June 29, 1926, in Cherryvale, the son of Alvie and Lucile Pichler Bailey. He graduated from Kansas University with a degree in civil engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War.

He was a member of Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion, KU Alumni Association, American Society of Civil Engineers and Kansas State Historical Society.

He married Donna Roberts. She died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Willman, Overland Park; and two grandchildren.
