School district releases administrative salaries
Some new names may be present and other names gone, but there are otherwise few changes in the list of salaries of Lawrence school district administrators released this week.
A state law passed in 2003 requires Kansas districts to provide their local newspapers a list of administrators, their job titles and salaries by Oct. 1.
Top earners remained stagnant in their salaries. Lawrence Supt. Randy Weseman remained at $130,320, and Free State High School principal Joe Snyder continues to earn $93,820 annually. The full list can be viewed online at www.ljworld.com.
The Lawrence school board won’t approve any salary increases in the district until the Kansas Supreme Court and Legislature determine education funding levels.
In August, the Kansas Supreme Court heard arguments for a lawsuit about funding schools. The earliest the court could rule is Oct. 15.
