Deborah E. Grove

? Services for Deborah E. Grove, 49, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Cremation will follow with inurnment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona.

Mrs. Grove died Friday, May 7, 2004, at Indian Meadows Healthcare Center in Overland Park.

She was born Dec. 23, 1954, in San Antonio, the daughter of William T. and Laurel M. Boggs Hughes. She graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1973 and attended Johnson County Community College. She had lived in the Ottawa and Pomona area for the past 11 years.

Mrs. Grove was an order filer for Wal-Mart Distribution Center and worked in the bakery in Wal-Mart Supercenter, both in Ottawa, from the 1990s to 2002, when she retired because of illness. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Pomona.

She married Chris Grove in Riverside, Calif. They divorced. She married David Scott in Pomona. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her parents, Overland Park; three sons, Nicholas Grove, Travis Grove and Weston Grove, all of Ottawa; a sister, Sharon M. Merdian, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and a brother, Robert E. Hughes, Blue Springs, Mo.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the mortuary, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family suggests memorials to the Franklin County Cancer Foundation, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
