Junction City ? Nathaniel Spencer has finished first or second in five of six golf tournaments this season.

This week has been no different for the Lawrence High senior.

Spencer won the Junction City Invitational on Thursday at Rolling Hills with a 5-under 65, one day after placing second at the Olathe North Invitational at Prairie Highlands with a 3-over 75.

Spencer’s only finish out of the top-two was a 10th-place showing at the 36-team Hutchinson Invitational.

LHS finished second Thursday at Junction City, 11 strokes behind champion Wichita Southeast. Lawrence’s Daniel Brumley also earned a medal in fifth place with a 75.

Free State was 12th in the 16-team field.

Wednesday at Olathe, LHS finished fifth in a 15-team field. Brumley was sixth with a 79. Free State placed 14th

The Lions and Firebirds travel Monday to Leavenworth Country Club.
