McClenton services
Lecompton ? Services for Joyce Marian McClenton, 60, Lecompton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lecompton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton.
Mrs. McClenton died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
She was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Lawrence, the daughter of Joseph and Marjorie (Ward) Cooley. She grew up in the Lawrence and Lecompton areas and graduated from Lawrence High School.
Mrs. McClenton worked in the housekeeping department of the Holiday Inn and for Wakarusa Manor, Brandon Woods Retirement Community and Presbyterian Manor as a certified nursing assistant.
She married Marvin Lipp in Miami, Okla. They later divorced. She married Kelvin McClenton in October 1994 in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Eric David Lipp, Eudora, and Joseph William Lipp, Lecompton; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Smith, Texas City, Texas; her mother, Lecompton; a brother, Leroy Allen Cooley, Lecompton; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The family suggests memorials to America Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
