Lowell ‘Cub’ Lyons

? Services for Lowell “Cub” Lyons, 70, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. Burial will be in Valleybrook Cemetery in Overbrook.

Mr. Lyons died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at a Wichita hospital.

He was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Fayette, Iowa, the son of Leonidas and Crystal Nusbaum Lyons.

Mr. Lyons formerly lived in Lawrence, where he started his veterinary practice. He moved to Ottawa in 1968 and practiced there until he semiretired several years ago. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard in the 1950s.

He married Kathleen Allen on Aug. 6, 1966, in Wichita. They later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Lowell J. II, Andale; a daughter, Lisa L. Turner, Wichita; his companion, Virginia Smith, Prescott, Ariz.; and four grandsons.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where family will receive them from 1 p.m. until service time Friday.
