Fashion show benefits anti-violence alliance

? A Tonganoxie fifth grader will hold a fashion show Saturday for the benefit of the Alliance Against Family Violence and to possibly earn herself a scholarship.

Alexandria “Alex” Bartels, 11, lined up clothing donations from local businesses. She and some friends will model the clothes and the $1 proceeds from admissions to the show will be donated to the alliance along with the clothing. The fashion show will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds in Tonganoxie.

Alex is a member of the national kids’advisory board for BellyWashers juice drinks and is trying to earn a $5,000 education scholarship and a $2,500 prize for her school

As a member of the kids’ board, Alex and others across the country are advising BellyWashers on new product ideas while learning the importance of giving back to the community.
