Muriel Hansen
Tonganoxie ? Services for Muriel Hansen, 95, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 26, 1908, in Putman County, Mo., near Unionville, the daughter of Otto and Anna Murphy Furnish.
Mrs. Hansen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963 from Baker University. She taught school in Kansas and Missouri, and retired in 1973 from the Linwood school district.
She was a member of the Kansas Retired Teachers Assn.
She married Joseph Berry in Unionville, Mo. They divorced. She married Ernest Hansen on Dec. 20, 1957. He died Dec. 3, 1992.
A granddaughter died in 2004, and a grandson died in 1979.
Survivors include two sons, A.J. (Joe) Berry, Shawnee, and John Berry, Tonganoxie; a sister, Mildred Perkins, Unionville, Mo.; a brother, Gail A. Furnish, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
