Fundis services

? Services for Annabelle Fundis, 88, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin.

Mrs. Fundis died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 5, 1915, in Darlington, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Zola Holmes Dwyer. She moved with her family to LeRoy, where she graduated from LeRoy High School. She lived in Ottawa for a short time before moving to a farm east of Baldwin.

Mrs. Fundis worked for the Baldwin Ledger, Tauy Creek Apartments, Beedles Motor Co. and the Kansas Veterans Administration. She was a member of Ives Chapel United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Baldwin, Live N’ Learn, Mothers Club and Maple Leaf Quilt Guild. She also was a past matron and 50-year member of the Evangeline Chapter No. 162 of Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered for the Senior Center in Baldwin and the Douglas County Election Board.

She married Louis Fundis on Sept. 24, 1938, in Ottawa. He died in August 1976.

A son, Gary Fundis, and a daughter, Bonnie Fundis, died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Guenther and Gretchen Brumm, both of Baldwin; a son, Garth Fundis, Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
