Copp-Collins

Chris Copp, Lawrence, announces the engagement of her daughter, Jessica J. Copp, Eudora, to Chad J. Collins, Eudora.

The bride-to-be also is the daughter of Don Copp, Lawrence, and the granddaughter of Charles and Hilda Whatley, Lawrence. She is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2003 graduate of Johnson County Community College. She works at Chada Sales Co. in Lawrence.

The future groom is the son of Terry Minshall and Carla Collins, both of Norton, and the grandson of Leland Dwinell, Norton. He is a 1994 graduate of Norton Community High School and a graduate of Northwest Kansas Technical College. He works for Sprint in Overland Park.

The couple plan an April 16, 2005, wedding in Lawrence.

Rockhold-Burris

Allen and Terri Rockhold, Baldwin, and Don and Patty Leinen, Dimmitt, Texas, announce the engagement of their children, Lacey Jo Rockhold, Lawrence, and Jerry Stephen Burris, Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Baldwin High School. She is a sophomore at Kansas University, where she is studying elementary special education. She is employed at KU’s law school.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of West Texas High School, Stinnett, Texas. He recently completed a four-year term in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Riley.

The couple plan a June 18, 2006, wedding at Lake Shawnee.

Sharp-Lewis

Glen and Pam Sharp, Baldwin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie Sharp, Baldwin, to Nathan Lewis, Lebanon, Mo., son of Bill and Sue Lewis, Lebanon, Mo.

The future bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Mo. She is employed by Morningstar Communications in Overland Park.

The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Lebanon High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southwest Baptist University. He is employed by Cerner Corp. in Kansas City.

The couple plan an Aug. 30 wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Shipman-Holliday

Bob and Madeliene Shipman, Lindsborg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Rene Shipman, Lawrence, to Steven Mark Holliday, Lawrence, son of Ray and Jan Holliday, Lincoln, Neb.

The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Smoky Valley High School, Lindsborg. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism in 2000 from Kansas University. She is a managing editor at Allen Press Inc., Lawrence.

The future groom is a 1989 graduate of Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Neb. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and English in 1994 from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Neb. He received a master’s degree in English in 1997 from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. He is employed at Allen Press Inc. in Lawrence.

The couple plan a Sept. 5 wedding in the Loose Park Rose Garden in Kansas City, Mo.

Young-Meyer

David and Cindy Young, Lawrence, and William and Donalda Meyer, Cumberland, Iowa, announce the engagement of their children, Summer Ann Young, Lawrence, and Jeffrey Meyer, Cumberland, Iowa.

The bride-to-be is a 1998 home-school graduate. She has spent several years as a child-care provider.

The future groom is a 2000 home-school graduate. He works on the family farm as a carpenter.

The couple plan a Sept. 18 garden wedding in Lawrence.

Barnhart-Tackitt

Trinette L. Barnhart, Lawrence, and Ronald Michael Tackitt, Carlsbad, N.M., announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Keith Barnhart, Topeka, and Doreen Barnhart, Ottawa. She is a 2002 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She entered basic training in July 2002 at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., and graduated in September 2002. She then attended Kendle College in Evanston, Ill., and received certification as a culinary specialist in November 2002. She is serving in the U.S. Navy as a Culinary Specialist Seaman. She is stationed at Naval Support Activity in Naples, Italy, and works in the Housing Department.

The future groom is the son of Ronald and Karen Tackitt, Carlsbad, N.M. He is a 2002 graduate of Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, N.M. He entered basic training in August 2000 at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., and graduated in October 2000. He then attended the Defense Information School at Fort George Mead in Maryland and graduated in September 2001. He is serving in the U.S Navy as a Journalist 2nd Class. He is stationed at the American Forces Network broadcasting detachment in Naples, Italy.

The couple plan a June 26 wedding at the First Assembly of God Church in Carlsbad, N.M.
