Ida Berniece ‘Bernie’ Killinger

? Services for Ida Berniece “Bernie” Killinger, 83, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry.

Mrs. Killinger died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born Feb. 25, 1921, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of William James and Vera Kathleen Kline Woods. She moved from Oskaloosa to San Diego, Calif., in 1958 and then to Baldwin in 1987.

Mrs. Killinger was a credit office manager for 28 years at the Adorable Shop in San Diego. She retired in 1982. She was a member of Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star 62 and former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36, all in Oskaloosa.

She married George William Killinger on Oct. 27, 1938, in Oskaloosa. He died April 21, 1984.

Survivors include a son, George William Killinger, Brentwood, Tenn.; two daughters, Janice Kay Beerbower, Eudora, and Nancy Katherine Garegani, San Diego; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where Order of the Eastern Star services will be at 8 p.m. Monday.
