Makeup artist unveils cosmetics collection

Does anyone remember Garanimals? The line of children’s clothing is perfect for people who don’t feel like expending energy to match colors and styles. All a shopper has to do is match the animal tags on tops and bottoms and voila, instant play clothes.

Makeup artist Vincent Longo’s new Spectralite collection is like the Garanimals of cosmetics. The soft wearable hues can be worn alone or combined. And each mirrored compact can magnetically snap together with other colors for eyes, cheeks and lips so that you can make your own palette. Even the brushes come in their own mirrored “tool box” compact.

Vincent Longo Spectralite compacts cost $18 and are available at www.sephora.com.

Changing times: Pert, perky and preppy, the TracyPlace ribbon watch is all that. And it’s even practical, too.

One day wear your watch with a red and white gingham ribbon, the next you’re mad about plaid, or stripes or polka dots.

The watch was designed by Washington, D.C., native Jenny Bayly who reached for a handful of ribbons when her watchband broke. Each TracyPlace watch comes with a selection of ribbon bands in different colors and patterns that you can change whenever you feel like it. We especially like the colorful Peyton Place with its pink polka dot and lime-green ribbons ($75) and East Egg’s gorgeous pastel lilac and aqua ribbon watchbands ($75). Both sets come with 14 colored ribbon bands plus basic navy.
