Chalfant-Burgess

Megan Leigh Chalfant and Michael Brooks Burgess were married March 13, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Topeka with the Rev. Joe Cutter officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Carl and Vickie Chalfant, McLouth. The bridegroom is the son of Denny and Barbara Burgess, Topeka.

Also attending were the bride’s grandmother Irene Wray, Barnes, and the bride’s honorary grandparents Raymond and Dorothy Lindquist, Waterville.

Diane Forge Bauersfeld was matron of honor. Adriana Palmeri was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Valarie Lamoreaux, Melinda Woodring, Jen Bauersfeld and Vickie Burgess. Best man was Tom Burgess. Groomsmen were John Elcock, Noel Etzel, Reid Bauersfeld, Brooke Bauersfeld and Matt LeCount.

Adrianna Woodring was flower girl, and Trey Etzel was ring bearer. Candle lighters were Mckinlea Burgess and Braedon Burgess. The bride’s personal attendants were Mary Etzel, Sara Bauersfeld, Colleen LeCount and Aurica Balmus. Ushers were Eric Patterson, Jared Vilander, Matt Burgess and Drew Burgess. Reader was Matt Sturtevant. Vocal soloist was Bill Anderson, harpist was Julie Saville, and organist was Bob Jacoby.

A reception followed at the Kansas Museum of History.

The bride is a political consultant for Burgess & Associates in Topeka and is pursuing a master’s degree in special education from Emporia State University. The groom is a Web developer for Spinnaker, LLC and represents the 51st District in the Kansas House of Representatives.

They took a honeymoon trip to Great Harbour Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas. They reside in Topeka.
